1. Oil
All wire ropes must be oiled. The fiber core is immersed in oil, and the grease is required to protect the fiber core from rotting and corroding the steel wire, moisten the fiber, and lubricate the steel wire rope from the inside. The surface of the rope strands are coated with a layer of anti-rust lubrication grease, which is used for friction lifting and mine water rope, to increase wear and water resistance of black grease; Other uses are coated with red oil grease with strong film and good rust prevention performance, and require thin oil layer, easy to keep clean during operation.
2. Coating
Galvanized, aluminized, coated with nylon or plastic. Zinc is divided into thin coating of steel wire after plating and thick coating of galvanized steel wire after drawing. The mechanical properties of thick coating are reduced compared with smooth steel wire rope, which should be used in severe corrosion environment. Aluminized steel wire rope is more resistant to corrosion, wear and heat than galvanized steel wire rope. It is mainly used for fishing trawling ships and mines containing H2S. It is produced by plating before drawing. Coated nylon or plastic wire rope is divided into two kinds of coated rope and coated stock after the rope. The former is used for static cables and the latter for moving cables.
